About the Conference:
The Afghanistan Energy Business Opportunities Conference in Dubai will provide interested investors with a comprehensive outline of potential investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s energy sector. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), working together with the Afghan Ministry of Energy and Water, is using the momentum generated by the Kandahar Solar Project to explore the best approach to attract investors and policymakers to partner in Afghanistan’s emerging energy sector. As a result of this conference, the Afghan government hopes to bolster domestic energy production through competitive and transparent private sector investment.
With almost $17 billion spent on development programs in
Afghanistan since 2002, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provides the largest bilateral civilian assistance program to Afghanistan. USAID partners with the government and people of Afghanistan to ensure economic growth led by the country’s private sector, establish a democratic and capable state governed by the rule of law, and provide basic health and education services for all Afghans.
